Group Du Jour "The Mystery Plays" remastered

To mark the 30th anniversary of its release, Group Du Jour's 1992 epic album "The Mystery Plays" has been newly remastered by Jamie Haggerty and is now available as a digital download from Bandcamp - with the CD bonus track "Animosity Killed the Cat" included. Sounding better than ever, the album features the classic GDJ songs "All the Time in the World", "Our Secret Life", "Mercenary Man", "The Hedgerow" and others with some fine vocal performances from Bo Parker. The original CDs and cassettes are available for purchase from Bandcamp as well.

In July, a special addition to the 25th Anniversary Edition of "Wonderful Vision" will be made available on Bandcamp as a download: the first of three takes of "Motion of Waves", which has never before been issued. The original vinyl of "Wonderful Vision" is also available at Bandcamp.

Coming November 2nd - Daniel Crommie's "Inner World"

Inner World, recorded concurrently with Noisemaker and A Prelude to the New Normal, features challenging long-form compositions for flutes and electronics with an emphasis on light and shade, tone and texture - with ethnic, orchestral and mallet percussion. Modern production meets concert flute, processed through vintage electronic devices - in addition to exotic acoustic instruments, analogue and digital synthesizers and electric dulcimer - which alternately express inner calm and existential angst in slowly evolving soundscapes. Highly recommended to fans of Brian Eno, Steve Reich and Jon Hassell. Preorder from Amazon here. Buy from Band Camp here. Here is a review from Sea of Tranquility. Here is an excellent review from DPRP.

"A Prelude to the New Normal" by Daniel Crommie released!

Some new sounds for you! The experimental follow-up to "Noisemaker" takes you on an eclectic journey to the future past with medieval, jazz-funky world rhythms and primal rocking that concludes on a contemplative note. This album features some retro analogue electronics including brassy flute parts created courtesy of a 1967 Maestro "System for Woodwinds" newly restored and integrated into the proceedings. This is the second of at least three solo albums scheduled for release in 2021. You can order the CD or download here.

New Daniel Crommie Releases for 2021

After a year of limited performance opportunities, with plenty of time to work on new compositions - there will be a plethora of new releases in the coming year, with the first album of 2021 "Noisemaker" scheduled for January 26th. "Noisemaker" sees a shift in sounds and textures with melodic and upbeat tunes featuring a lot of jazz/progressive flute grooves and densely constructed bubbling synths, layered flutes and buzzing electric dulcimers playfully entangled with disembodied voices taken from robo-calls. The first video for "Coconut Radio" is released December 4th and you can watch it here. Here is a review from Sea of Tranquility: "Crommie is a supreme talent and I urge everyone to check him out".

Another new album "A Prelude to the New Normal" will arrive this spring with more videos preceding that release as well.
